A funky wedding invite

21 Oct

Checkout this awesome invitation by two friends of mine who are getting married soon – Julia and Donovan. Julia works for Ogilvy & Mather and Donovan aka DJ Funkie Junkie is one of K.L’s most hip and happening DJ’s. The two of them are no doubt the arty sort who dig their music… and that’s probably why they designed their own wedding invite inline with their ever-so-cool wedding concept, that’s all 60s and grooooovy..!

This is the cover that the invite arrives in:

Isn’t it cute? I like how the whole ‘side a’ & ‘side b’ thing… very witty and sweet:) So that’s the sleeve, which you open up to see the ‘record’…

Wondering what JUDO Records is all about? Well, it actually stands for ‘JUlia and DOnovan’ as in TomKat (Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes) or Brangelina (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie). That’s ten more points for the touch of extra wit!

Did you notice that the after party will have the world famous french DJ ‘Dimitri from Paris‘?!! Wow, wow and wow. Also, I’m so excited to dress up in something 60s because I’m seriously running out of Cheong sams and weddingesque dresses to wear! I have a feeling this will be a wedding where we will ‘feel the love’ and party it up :)

If you want to make your own invite like Donovan & Julia’s:

  • Programme: Adobe Illustrator
  • Cost: Rm 2.80 an invite (special rate as the printer shop is run by Don’s family friend)
  • Where: Likland Enterprise
  • Contact number: 0362743119

Oh this is so cool! Did it actually come out as a round record? I think wedding invites should be interesting like this…

Speaking of invites, i must show you the one that Pamelia Th’ng made for her upcoming wedding in Bali. It’s all handmade and crazily lovely. 2 months before the invite, she even sent out a small card with a button on it for people to remember to save the date for the wedding. So much thought and effort it’s amazing

Hey JJ, please do – are you heading to K.L anytime soon? Would love to post it up on TWG :) Also, I’ve been to Bulgari Bali – only to eat but even so it is a beautiful, beautiful resort. Food was not bad, it was dinner so tad dark. Very romantic though… you bridesmaid are going to have some serious girl time!! hehe.
