Here at WGA, we’re well aware that everyone’s probably still very much in the Chinese New Year mood (Well, at least I know I am!). So, we’ve decided to write a little feature on how to have a fabulous chinoiserie wedding!
Chinoise what? Just in case you were wondering, chinoiserie is (originally) French for an object or decoration reflecting Chinese qualities or motifs. If you’re planning a spring wedding or a party pertaining to Asian cultures or travel, well you’re in luck! Here are some ideas of ways to incorporate a little chinoiserie chic into your wedding.
Cherry blossom icing? Talk about yum! The cake topper translates to “Double Happiness,” an auspicious Chinese blessing. And of course, no Chinese wedding tea ceremony can ever be complete without an heirloom tea set…
Chinoiserie programs, anyone? Come on, you gotta love the DIY Chinese frog buttons! The jars could be filled with scrumptious little treats, like macadamias, rock candy or even Jelly Bellies!
Don’t you just hate it when you have to chuck away your wedding decorations when the party is over? Here’s a tip: always be on the lookout for fun, functional and reusable wedding decor.
