Latest Goldilocks collection from ‘Gold & Silver’ jewellers (it’s xmas girls!)

So here’s the thing. If I’m not out and about, I’m online 24/7 looking for great articles and topics to write for The Wedding Guide. One fine day, after posting our interview with former Channel V VJ Sarah Tan… I noticed some photos on her Facebook wall of her with some very cool necklaces. After a dose of google stalking, I found out that her jewellery was part of the newly launched Goldilocks collection by “Gold & Silver” in Singapore. I quickly contacted the owner and found out that they not only have an amazing range of diamonds and jewels, but also run an online portal called ‘More than Diamonds’ where they sell to clients from Europe to Asia. Chris Lim, the director of marketing for “Gold & Silver” was kind enough to chat with TWG on all things shiny and nice!
“Gold & Silver” started all the way back in 1946. Personally, I love nothing more than a brand with a history and story – do share.
People new to our company don’t realize that Gold & Silver is a jeweller with over 60 years’ retail experience. After 22 years of being a retailer in the Paragon, we are now taking it to the next level – with an exclusive showroom on Orchard Road, backed by a leading web portal and e shop for fine jewellery.
We have been cornerstone jewellers in Singapore since 1946. My grandfather established the company, and my parents continued to grow the business over the next decades. In a way, jewellery has always been in my blood (so to speak:), but it wasn’t a set path. I have been interested in many other creative avenues, all of which have led me back to jewellery. I’m blessed in a sense I guess, being able to transfer all my skills and experience back into the family business.
Tell us about the team behind “G & S”. What’s your role?
Together with my talented creative partner (and fiancée) Sara, we are steering the brand and website to echo our new and innovative style of jewellery design. Sara’s father is from Penang, and mother from Finland, but she grew up in Sweden. Through her influence, we are merging Scandinavian minimalism with Asian precision. There is a new generation of jewellery buyers, and our products excite both the young urbanite and the mature cosmopolitan.
You’ve just launched an amazing collection called Goldilocks. How did you guys come up with the idea of creating handwritten names?
We are constantly pushing the boundaries of new, interesting jewellery. (more…)
