Created by guest designer Tiphaine Guillermou, this cute necklace is available in 18K rose, yellow or white gold – and is the perfect accessory for brides in search of something different. “A moustache looks very dandy, very French, very masculine and provocatively sexy,” Guillermou explains. We certainly think it’s a refreshing addition to the Doodles range. (more…)

Wedding Bands Of The Moment

9 Sep

It’s been awhile since we’ve had a jewelry post so it’s high time we have a look at the latest trends in wedding bands. Courtesy of WGA vendor More than Diamonds, today we’re looking at what’s in from somewhere far away from Asia – Sweden! Shot by Swedish wedding photographer Anna Nilsson of Subclip photography, we love some of these gorgeous pics she took of a summery wedding and different wedding bands. Enjoy x

If you’re two peas in a pod, why not don identical designs?

An everlasting trend, ‘yellow gold’ is never out of style. Photo above is of a Princess Cut Solitaire and Eternity Ring for Her and Plain Rounded Band for Him.

One of my personal favourites, where couples inscribe their names on the band (just as a literal reminder!). The matte finish also gives the wedding bands a more mod look. (more…)

Classic Icing On The Bride

10 Mar

I'm loving the setting!

Maybe I’m just an old-fashioned girl who likes to think of the sparklies as her best friend but I definitely had way too much fun writing my previous jewellery piece. So much so I decided to do another one! We thought it’d be interesting to check up on the fabulous trend of antique designs making a comeback.

This here’s a round brilliant – probably the most popular choice amongst engagement rings. Why? Because it just works. It’s a shape that looks good on most fingers and leaves everyone going “Oooh…” And the extra bling all round is a cool bonus.

Now how’s that for unusual? Does anyone else think that from the side this kind of looks like a royal sceptre or something? A traditional piece perfect for a modern-day queen ;) (more…)

Have you ever wondered what your ring says about you? Yeah, we thought as much. Surely that diamond is somehow connected to your own sparkling personality ;)

As always, we’re more than happy to do the homework for you…

Round (Brilliant)

This is for the traditional at heart. Most likely, this was the first shape you ever saw and fell in love with. Why? Because it’s one of those classics that always look good – like you :)

Oval-shaped

The oval demands attention. It’s as sparkly as a round diamond but with more of an edge. Usually seen on the hands of Go-Getters swiping credit cards and signing lucrative deals.

Heart-shaped

If this is your choice, you’re probably the romantic kind who always wears your ticker on your sleeve. And now you’ve got his heart, too – on your finger ^_^ (more…)

Gifts For The Chinese New Year Bride

19 Jan

TV Host Sarah Tan hearts her Goldilocks pendant

You know it’s that time of the year again, when everywhere you go, you hear the same ol’ melody, “Gong xi gong xi gong xi ni!” Yes, just in case you’re living in the cave or needed some reminding, Chinese New Year is just around the corner. Personally, I’m a big fan of CNY (being half-chinese may have something to do with it), because what other holiday can you think of where eating, drinking & gambling is a must!

Anyways, besides the typical CNY festivities, did you know that a lot of weddings are held around this time as well? So if you’re at a loss wondering what to buy your bestie for a wedding present, then how about these fab pendants from WGA vendor Goldilocks Jewelry (who also own a great online shop called More Than Diamonds). As you can see from the pic above, even former Channel V VJ Sarah Tan is a fan:)

Fish Pendant (3-tone)

Just in time for Chinese New Year! I love the Fish Pendant which you can choose in either rose gold, yellow or white gold. Why fish? According to the More Than Diamonds blog, “the character 余 ’yu’ which means surplus or abundance sounds exactly like the character 鱼 ‘yu’ which means fish. Hence, the fish is often used as a symbol of abundance and is meant to give a good start to the new year.”

Abundance? Works for me! Click here to shop.

Oh hello. This must be for me ;)

The Goldilocks range is most famous for its Alphabet necklaces, which have fans from Europe to Japan. Here you can customise as you please, add a diamond or two, spell out your full name or as in my case, just “Steph” will do. (more…)
