Far And Away

Buorngiorno! Viva la Italia

Since it’s Friday and the weekend has (finally!) arrived, I thought it apt to put together a little something that would inspire you to get away. If you thought the honeymoon was the only excuse to call your travel agent, guess again… Because even if holding a destination wedding isn’t your thing, have you ever thought about flying away for your pre-wedding shoot? In today’s post, we feature pics from WGA vendor Daren Chong, who seems to always be booked for a destination wedding shoot…

Pop over to tropical Bali

A popular destination for everyone living in Asia (or the Pacific for that matter), Bali is the ultimate island getaway that offers scenic backdrops of not just the beach, but historic temples and lush greenery.

Tip: Pre-wedding shoots can be tiring, so make sure you bring along a little kit with you. Take flip flops (keep heels just for the pics), a bottle of water, energy bar, face powder and Panadol (just in case, as my mother says… you never know!)

A Victorian touch in Melbourne

If it’s Victorian architecture and cool weather you’re after, you need not go too far, as just a hop & a skip away down under – is Melbourne.

Tip: Winter down under isn’t quite the white wonderland you might think it’d be. Melbourne is best during Spring or Autumn – if you’re heading there for summer – just bear in mind it can get really, really hot! (more…)

My pre-wedding photos!

11 Aug

With the wedding around the corner, I must say I’ve done almost everything a bride-to-be needs to do before her big day (Hens Party and even a trip to Guang Zhou). It is an exciting time for my husband-to-be, family, friends and of course myself. The day is almost here, after 4 long years of being engaged to each other and making the commitment to start a new life together. Of course at times we get on each other’s nerves with disagreements over certain wedding matters, but at the end of the day, it’s all about compromising with each other.

Although there is this rush everyday now to make sure things are in order and that the checklist has been checked over and over again, it wasn’t until we took our pre-wedding pictures that Sunday morning did it finally sink in that we were getting married!

Our pre-wedding photographer was none other than the very professional, Daren Chong. I swear he made us feel at ease and working with him was heaps of fun. (more…)

Pre-wedding shots in Brisbane from Andy Lim

21 May

Ah, the life of a wedding photographer! Jet-setting around the world shooting weddings in wonderful locations… all in the name of love. For many wedding photographers here in South East Asia, the ‘hottest’ destinations are definitely the ones nearby. Australia, Bali and Langkawi are no doubt popular places for couples to have their pre-wedding photos.

These lovely photos were taken by LWB vendor, Andy Lim, who flew to Brisbane to shoot Malaysian couple, Pinar and Kien.

Pinar and Kien are both working in Brisbane but will be holding their actual wedding in Malacca this July.

The couple decided on Andy because they liked “the way his pictures show a lot of emotion and how they appear very natural…” (more…)

Pre-wedding video by Rocket Science Production

2 Apr

This funky video was shot by Rocket Science Productions and is a pre-wedding video of couple Rachel and Albert. Both of them are dancers so you’ll see a lot of movement incorporated into the video!

In all, a rather cool pre-wedding video :)

I always love getting photos from Fiona Lim (Fifoto Photography), because she never fails to surprise me! Fiona is great at taking those classic, romantic pre-wedding photos and then mixing them with a touch of fun and modernity.

Here are some pics from a shoot she did a few weeks back (hot off the press, isn’t it?).

Bride: Hani is from Seremban (Malaysia), and currently works in Johor as a teacher.
Groom: Nathan is an American from Miami, where he works as an engineer.

Can you feel the love? It may seem rare, but Nathan and Hani actually met online! YES, online! Apparently, while playing games on IRC!
So you see ladies, you really never know when, where or how – you will meet ‘the one’.
