Ah the inevitable Hen’s night – every girl’s last moment of freedom where her girlies and her get together, and well, go a bit mad! What exactly goes down into a Hen’s night you may ask? Well, everything and anything. I’ve known girls who have had quite the wild one while others just chilled with their besties. I remember one held here in K.L where our stripper (a college student) got a bit overexcited and pulled a full monty on us! Unfortunately, the reaction was more ‘O the horror, the horror’ than ‘O, oh OH!’
Anyways, let’s get to the serious stuff. According to Hensnight.com.au – there are a few types of genres a girl can choose for the ultimate Hens do!
If you’re going for a nottie night out then think dressing up in funny (and somewhat raunchy!) outfits. Whether it be dressing up as bunnies, choosing a theme such as the roaring 40s – let your imagination run wild. Why not contact a pole dance teacher to teach the team a little swinging action? In M’sia, try Maple Loo (The Hanging Garden) or TalentHub in Sri Hartamas. Then of course there are the typical activities for a nottie hens night:
1. Hire a male stripper!
2. Hit the town and give the lovely bride a bucket that says ‘$5 for a kiss on the cheek and $10 for a kiss on the lips’
3. Swap an item of clothing with a man
4. Dance a song with two (handsome) men at once
etc, etc!
This hen likes the finer things in life and is up for a night of the creme de la creme. Indulge by dining at top restaurants and sipping cocktails at swanky bars while you and the girls dress up to the nines. In K.L, try restaurants like Cilantro or Nerovivo (always abuzz with ppl) and bars like Twenty-one, Sultan’s Lounge or Rootz.
Want a day where you’re all treated like the princesses you are? Then perhaps a Pamper Hens night is for you. Think luxury and indulgement – massages, pedicures, facials and of course champagne to complete the day. Talk to your favourite mani/ pedi boutique and ask them about hiring the area out for a few hours or if they can come to the house. My spot of choice is The Strip in Bangsar!
The unique hen creates her own special night according to her wishful desires – be it out of the ordinary or something she simply enjoys. Whether she and the girls embark on a mad shopping trip, create a little ‘Hens party’ film or enjoy a mystical night with tarot card readers… anything goes.
