When Cat and Winson met at a social in university back in 2002, some kind of magic happened. You know, the kind where the stars align and you thank your lucky stars for that special encounter. A romantic proposal later – “Marry me?” (spelled out in rose petals), a diamond ring, a bouquet of roses and a promise to cherish and care for the rest of his life – of course she said “Yes!”

They went with his and hers favourite colours (how sweet) as their colour theme. A rich palette of magenta and silver is juxtaposed with romantic ruffles and heart cutouts.
When Cat couldn’t find the perfect dress during the usual boutique search, she made the decision to have her dream dress custom made. She wanted ruffles and a dress that was light and easy.
With a specific vision for her perfect day, she unleashed her DIY prowess! She designed, planned and handmade her invitations, boutonniere, hand bouquet, back drop (!!), props, flower pompoms, favour tags and posters amongst other things! She choose materials in the colour theme and injected all the crafts with the right amount of fun and romance.
How fun is this backdrop completely handmade by Cat and her husband. Don’t they make one crafty team?
As an alternative to bouquets for her bridesmaids, Cat crafted these cute graphic heart shaped pop cards to express her feelings as a bride. We think that’s so cute!
“It was full of happiness and emotional. And yes, definitely a dream come true” – The Bride on the highlight of her day.
“Keep calm and enjoy every moment”, says the Bride on the best advice she got for her big day.
“Do not ever think you cannot have any personal touches for your wedding. Just browse the Internet and there are a lot tutorials for handcrafts and design inspiration. Have fun!”
Congratulations Cat and Winson!
