Fiona Lim is the lovely lady behind the successful wedding photography studio, FIFOTO. The latest studio to join The Wedding Guide, we sat down with Fiona for a cup of tea and a quick Q&A.

Tell us a little bit about FIFOTO.

FIFOTO consists of a team of professionals who come from a corporate background and share a passion for photography.

The Malaysian photography industry has traditionally been dominated by men. Was it easy for you as a woman to break into the scene?

Being a female photographer has it’s advantages as we tend to develop a closer and more intimate bond with the brides. So I guess being one of the few female wedding photographers around (this was a couple years back) created a buzz for FIFOTO and with a little bit of luck and a lot of hard work, things fell into place for us!

What type of weddings have you shot before?

We’ve shot Malay, Chinese, Indian, Sikh, Christian & cross-culture weddings. Our work has brought us to the Phillipines, US and Australia. We have also shot many celebrity weddings – Natasha Hudson, Tengku Asra & Tariq, Sasha Bashir & Yani Kasturi.

How would you describe your style?

Vibrant, fun & candid!

I am so thankful for the team behind FIFOTO. Everyone is easy-going, spontaneous, professional, responsible (this has a lot to do with our corporate backgrounds, I suppose!), dependable and would go the extra mile to make things happen! They have stood by FIFOTO from the very start and our working relationship has developed into one of friendship and trust. I couldn’t ask for a better team! We have also made it a point to have FIFOTO company trips on a yearly basis to de-stress and bond as a group! We went to Phuket last year and spent it in Pangkor Laut Resort this year!
